Youth murdered in Moga

A factory worker was reportedly murdered by unidentified people at Khosa Randhir village in Moga district on Sunday night, 12 km from here.

The deceased was identified as Harmail Singh, 24, of Khosa pando village. SHO Rachhpal Singh of Kot-ise-Khan police station said some prominent people had informed the police regarding the body, lying in the nearby fields of Khosa Randhir.

The victim's brother Harpal Singh said his elder brother Harmail Singh worked at a juice factory in Salina village. "While he was returning back home from the factory on Sunday evening some unidentified people attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. The attackers also cut the head from body," Harpal Singh said.

SHO said, "We recovered the body and brought it to Dr Mathura Dass civil hospital, Moga, for autopsy. After the post-mortem, the body was handed over to the family. We are investigating the matter and we will nab the culprits soon."

A case has been registered against the unidentified people under Section 302 of IPC.
