Hamirpur deputy commissioner Ashish Singhmar said in a meeting here on Thursday that 3,324 youths of the district have been given an allowance worth Rs 57.2 lakh in the district under the skill development scheme of the state government.
He said that most of the youths were getting training in the avocations of computers, tailoring and cutting.
Singhmar said that only those private institutions having permission from the district-level committee of the state government would be able to give training to the youth in their areas under the skill development scheme.
“Without the permission of the district-level committee, no persons getting training in such institutions would be given skill development allowance,” said Singhmar.
He said that the process for getting the skill development allowance had been simplified, and it had helped youths to avail benefits under the scheme.
