Journalist shot dead in Chatra

Unidentified people shot dead Indradev Yadav, a journalist working for a Hindi news channel from Chatra in Jharkhand, late on Thursday evening.

The miscreants fired at least five shots at him. “Three bullets hit him and he fell down on the ground immediately,” said a police officer at Chatra hospital.

The incident occurred around 9pm near Devaria Panchayat secretariat on Chatra bypass when Yadav was returning home on a two-wheeler. The place of occurrence was under Chatra Sadar police station area.

The friends and family members brought Yadav to Chatra, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
