Tata Steel will celebrate the 178th birth anniversary of its founder Jamsetji Nusserwanji Jee Tata on March 3 with a message of digitalized future. Besides the traditional homage paying programme, the company will have Board of Directors’ meeting in town for the first time.
Inauguration of Centre for Integrated command and control for management of city services (ICCMCS), a science park and an e-treasure hunt ‘Jamshedpur bounty’ for general public, are the special digitalized features of the three-day celebration, commencing on March 3.
The Centre will work on sensors digital science to manage water, electricity, wastage, parking, security and other civic services. Director of the company Ishaat Hussain inaugurated the system on Wednesday.
Tata Steel will organize a e-treasure hunt “Jamshedpur Bounty” for the local residents on Thursday. Locals will participate in various fun activities through the action bound app on their smartphones, downloaded from the respective app stores. To start the game, players will need to look for a QR code in and around the Jubilee Park area. It is a single-player, multi-staged treasure hunt to be played and enjoyed over a span of three days from March 2.
Vice president of Tata Steel Sunil Bhaskaran said, “Other than digitialized celebration with traditional customs, the board of directors’ meeting will be organised in the town for the first time since early 1990s. The grand digitalized celebration will take the town towards smarter cityehile following the moral cum industrial messages by JN Tata in running Tata Steel”.
Former chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata, chairman N Chandrasekaran and other directors will visit the town on Thursday for the board meeting.
Managing director of Jamshedpur Utility Services Company (Jusco) Ashish Mathur said Jamshedpur will get a science park, first of its kind in Jharkhand, on the occasion.
The science park ‘Exploratorium’ will develop scientific temper with curiosity and inquisitiveness, making the conceptual understanding of science more robust and full of fun than classroom learning. IT park, set up with joint effort of JUSCO, Tata Steel under the guidance of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, will also be dedicated to the city by DK Mehrotra, director, Tata Steel on Thursday.
Chief Tata Steel (Corporate communications) Kulvin Suri said that Technical Exhibition-2017, exhibition on JN Tata, illumination in Jubilee Park on Thursday, a spectacular pageantry on March 3, tableaus from associate companies, social organisations, Jharkhand Armed Force (JAP) and Rapid Action Force (RAF), special laser shows and musical fountain will be prime attractions of the celebration.
