In a joint operation, security forces have arrested a dreaded 'area commander' and two members of the banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a CPI-Maoist faction, which had recently gunned down AJSU-Party leader Tileshawar Sahu.
The arrests were made by the Khunti police on the early hours of Tuesday after a fierce gun-battle in Murhu police station of Khunti district.
"We have arrested Pradeep Kerketta (Pintuji), area commander and two others after an hour-long encounter at Dubotoli village," said Anish Gupta, superintendent of police, Ramgarh.
The two other arrested have been identified as Ajay Kerketta and Johan Bodram.
Police have recovered one double-barrel gun and three single-barrel gun from the arrested.

The superintendent of police added that joint security forces including Khunti Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) carried out raid in forested area near Dubotoli.
"The raids were conducted after intelligence inputs. The raiding team was led by Murhu officer-in-charge Pravin Kumar," the SP added. The superintendent of police said that PLFI members led by the area commander opened fire at security forces near Dubotoli.
"Security forces nabbed the trio while they were trying to escape," the SP said.
