A woman allegedly hacked her husband to death on Tuesday night over his suspected extra marital affair, said police on Wednesday.
The incident took place in Silli block, 45 kms from Ranchi, said police, adding the accused Bulla Dutta (39) has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband Amit Dutta (42).
A case has been registered at the Silli police station, said deputy superintendent of police, Amit Shankar.
“Bulla was picked up from her house and the murder weapon, found next to the body of the deceased, has been seized. She accepted her crime during the interrogations,” said Shankar, adding the body of the deceased was sent to Ranchi-based Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for autopsy.
Bulla told the police that her husband was involved with a local woman for the past one year and would openly talk about it.
“I warned my husband and so did others in the family that his affair would destroy our martial life but he just didn’t care. Eventually, I lost my patience and killed him,” Bulla told the police in her statement.
Police said according to the version given by the family members and the neighbours, Amit would often assault and manhandle Bulla and fights between them were common.
