As an expression of gratitude towards the doctors of Apollo Hospital in Chennai for taking good care of his mother, the double Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman offered tickets of his latest Tamil flick I to the doctors and their families.
"Rahman believes it was these doctors who brought his mother back to him when she was hospitalised. In return for their care and treatment for his mother, Rahman booked tickets to I in bulk and gave them away to the doctors and their families," said a source close to Rahman.
Rahman composed tunes for I, which released Wednesday and has been running to packed houses despite mixed reviews.
The film stars Vikram, Amy Jackson and Upen Patel in the lead roles, and is directed by Shankar. It has been released in Hindi and Telugu as well.
