Aruna Raje bags the Rashtriya Gaurav Award

FTII alumnus Aruna will be receiving the Rashtriya Gaurav Award from the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind

Director Aruna Raje will be felicitated with the Rashtriya Gaurav Award to be held today in Delhi. The director says, “I am delighted to receive the recognition for being the first woman technician in the Indian film industry. Women have extraordinary capabilities and I personally believe that nothing is impossible for them. It is great that women are breaking new ground everyday. I love challenges and ‘the sky is not the limit’.”

An alumnus of Film And Television Institute Of India, Aruna will be receiving the Rashtriya Gaurav Award from the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind and will be felicitated with fifteen other women who have excelled in their respective fields.

Her work includes films such as Shaque (1976), Gehrayee (1980) and Rihaee (1988) and the latest being Marathi movie, Firebrand, produced by Priyanka Chopra and Dr Madhu Chopra. The movie is a contemporary story about the highs and lows people deal with in their lives.
