While most people might think a film in the combination of Rajinikanth and SS Rajamouli is a distant dream, Premam director Alphonse Puthren believes when they join hands the result will affect the box-office collection of James Cameron’s Avatar. In his Facebook post, Puthren wrote: “Hope director S.S. Rajamouli does one film with Superstar Rajinikanth. If it happens, the record of Avatar in worldwide box office will be second.” It would be really interesting to know what this combination, if it materializes, has in store for the industry.

During his recent trip to Chennai during the promotional tour of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, Rajamouli had said it’s his long-time desire to work with Rajinikanth. Unfortunately, he said that he doesn’t have a script ready yet for the Robot actor. In Sunday, Rajinikanth described Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2 as pride of Indian cinema and added that it’s a masterpiece.

With an estimated earnings of over Rs 400 crore from the opening weekend across four languages, the second part in the Baahubali franchise is said to have registered the biggest opening for an Indian film. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, the film is produced by Arka Media Works.
