Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan is impressed by the trailer of Tamil drama . He says it features details as intricate as one would find in a novel.

The trailer was shown Tuesday at the film's audio launch, where Kamal was the chief guest.

"I may not have the regular cinema philosophies, but I have a lot of belief in good thoughts, ideas and hard work. Going by the trailer, I'm impressed with the film. The intricate detailing that I observed in novels is evident in it," Kamal told reporters here.

Cuckoo, directed by Raja Murugan features Dinesh and Malavika Nair in the lead role. It's the love story of two blind characters.

The film is jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and The Next Big Films. It is slated for summer release.

Kamal lauded the producers for backing a different film.

"Fox Star's entry to Tamil cinema promises a bright future. They have to encourage good talent like they have always been doing in Hollywood. I'm proud that South Indian talent is being groomed by them and I feel it's time for us to march towards world standards," said Kamal.

"The Next Big Films is a good positive name for the producers. I'm positive that Cuckoo will also be a big film for them. I congratulate them for supporting a different film," he added.
