Actor Naga Chaitanya-starrer Telugu romantic-comedy Oka Laila Kosam minted Rs 7.8 crore in first three days of its release, but couldn't register bigger opening due to the aftermath of cyclone Hudhud in Andhra Pradesh, says expert.
"The film minted Rs 7.8 crore worldwide in its opening weekend. Since most theatres in Visakhapatnam and a few neighbouring places still remain shut due to cyclone Hudhud, the film has lost big chunk of collections from these key areas," said trade analyst Trinath.
Directed by Vijay Kumar Konda, the film, which released October 17, also features Pooja Hegde, Suman and Ali in important roles.
Nearly 200 theatres were still shut in the cyclone-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh.
"Most theatres in Visakhapatnam are shut due to lack of electricity. Oka Laila Kosam couldn't be released in maximum number of screens. It will take at least a week or two more for these theatres to start working again," said a Visakhapatnam-based distributor.
