Deepika Padukone says she accepted the role in Kochadaiiyaan opposite south superstar Rajinikanth without reading the script only because she wanted to work with the superstar.

After a row of back to back hits in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone will now be seen in a big-budget south film,

.

In this film, Deepika will be seen alongside

for the first time. And we’ve been informed that the actor took up the role even before the script of the film was narrated to her.

"Deepika agreed to be part of the film for emotional reasons. When Rajinikanth’s daughter, Soundarya, approached her for the project, she immediately agreed to be associated with it without even knowing the concept, the film’s script or her role. She felt that working with Rajinikanth was an honour for her and it will also give her an opportunity to interact with the star," says a source close to Deepika.

The source adds that the film’s team approached Deepika as they felt that she would do justice to the character in terms of the performance the role demands.

Prior to this, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is the only actress from Bollywood who has worked with

on a project of this stature.

When contacted, Deepika confirms the news. Her spokesperson adds, "Even though it was for a brief role, Deepika was delighted to share screen space with Rajnikanth."
