Superstar Rajinikanth's next yet-untitled Tamil film, which is being touted as his image makeover film, has been in news of late. There was quite a buzz when young filmmaker Pa Ranjith was chosen to direct it.

Now news is actor Kalaiarasan has reportedly bagged an important role in the film. Ranjith won laurels for his Karthi-starrer Madras last year.

"Ranjith has given Kalaiarasan a very strong role to essay, though it's not clearly known yet what character he'll play," said a source from the film's unit.

The film is expected to go on floors in August in Malaysia.

Rajinikanth is said to be playing an ageing gangster in the movie, which will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.

Attakathi Dinesh is also part of the cast, while the rest of the members, including the female lead, will be finalised soon.
