Jackie Shroff is in awe of everything green and lush. He admits that his green thumb makes him love Pune more, and nowadays he spends more time with his plants than anything else. In the city to associate with Round Table India (a non political, non sectarian, nonprofit NGO), the Hero (1983) actor spoke about his love for Pune, plants and why he is not desperate for work at this point. “I am in Pune so often that my family teases me that I should buy a place here now. I think I am going to do so too.”

The actor enjoys spending time with his plants, organic garden and insists that everyone should spend some time with greenery. “Plants are a blessing and we hardly pay any attention to them. Leave aside planting new ones, we don’t even bother to take care of the ones already living around us. I make it a point to spend time with plants and hug them every day. They are lively beings that bring about a positive and energetic vibe in you. I have also stored 100-year-old seeds, which I will plant soon.”

Jackie has started gifting plants, seeds and everything associated with greenery to people. He has also requested people to stop offering bouquets and garlands to him at functions or events. On the work front, Jackie will be seen in Tamil film Saaho. He says, “I have been roped in for Saaho, and other than that I am not desperate for films now. I am in a happy place. I am trying my best to do things that help people. When I was young I could not do a lot that I desired to because I was lacking financial aid. So, now through whatever little I have, I am trying to provide for others. I am closely associated with the Marathi film industry when it comes to the well-being of the junior artistes and technicians. They have me as their brand ambassador for medical and education.”
