In the first ever thriller by a woman director, Glamour starring Parambrata Chatterjee and Parno Mitra, touches the dark alleys of human psyche, pitting the critically acclaimed pair of Apur Panchali in the web of crimes.
Parambrata of the Kahaani fame, having made his third directorial venture days back, said, "From protagonist to antagonist, my character Aryan Chatterjee straddles across more than one zone.
Director Mohua Chakroborty, (apparently not happy to be described as a woman director) attempting a thriller, said, "Glamour was all about the all-pervasive darkness of soul - of greed, anger, lust, murder and rage.
"The success of thrillers like Srijit Mukherjee's Baishe Srabon emboldened me as Bengali audiences are known to be afficionados of different thriller genre flicks," the debutant director added.
Parno, having portrayed two different characters in the film, confirmed it was like revisiting parts of the Ranjana Ami Aar Asbona, her debut work by Anjan Dutta which also had darker sides. But plot-wise Glamour is a full-fledged thriller, she added.
The film has been produced by Orion Entertainments.
