The highly anticipated audio launch of Shankar’s magnum opus 2.0, a sequel to his 2010 blockbuster Enthiran, is all set to take place this Friday (October 27) in Dubai. Tipped to be organized on a lavish scale, the makers have already started making arrangements for the event which is being promoted aggressively. Banners of the event have been put up in prominent public places across Dubai to draw the attention of the audience. It has been exclusively learnt that actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan might attend the event as its chief guest. Apparently, Shankar and the makers of 2.0, Lyca Productions have already approached the Dasavatharam actor and are waiting for his nod.

It’s going to be a very special event as it will have a live performance by AR Rahman, the composer of the film. The rumour has it that 2.0 has just one song; however, the film’s album has five songs and they’ll be performed live by Rahman, who will mesmerize audiences with 25-minute performance. HT has also learnt that a VIP table at the event costs a whopping Rs 6 lakh for a family and it’s already a sold out show, according to reliable sources. The audio launch will be streamed live on Zee network, the official satellite partner of the film. Zee bought the satellite rights of the film across languages for a staggering Rs 110 crore.

The trailer of 2.0, which was finally wrapped up on Sunday, will be unveiled in an event in Hyderabad in November. The film also stars Akshay Kumar, making his south debut, in the role of the antagonist and Amy Jackson, who plays an android robot.
