Kannada actor Kashinath dies, was suffering from cancer

Well known Kannada actor Kashinath, known for his roles in comedies, died on Thursday in Bengaluru, reports Times of India. He was suffering from cancer.

Kashinath not only acted in films, he was also a director and producer. He appeared in a film called Chowka, which released last year. The senior actor worked in 40 films in a career spanning more than three decades, says The Hindu.
Known for the films with double entendres, he was also a godfather to many Kannada actors and directors including actor Upendra, directors V Manohar and Sunil Kumar Desai. Some popular films in which he acted include Anubhava, Anantana Avantara, Avale Nanna Hendthi and Hendathi Endhare Haygirabeku. He also directed and produced these films.
In the film, 12 AM Madyaratri, he appeared along with son, Abhimanyu.
Tributes started pouring in from celebrities as the news of the death emerged. “Shocking to Know Kashinath Sir is no More. Deepest Condolences. Very Big Loss to Kannada Film Industry!,” Puneeth Rajkumar posted on his Facebook page.
“I am so saddened to know about the demise of Kashinath sir.He was a kind & a learned man. RIP,” tweeted Ganesh.
“This was the final selfie with RIP Kashinath,” filmmaker Ramesh Aravind posted sharing a picture on his Twitter page.
