Vikram will return as the hot-headed, foul-mouthed and uptight cop Aarusaamy in the sequel to his 2003 blockbuster Saamy, which also stars Trisha, and it will be her third collaboration with Vikram as well as director Hari. The latest addition to the cast is actor Keerthy Suresh, who is on a roll and currently has projects with stars such as Suriya and Pawan Kalyan in her kitty. Apparently, she will be seen in a lengthier role while Trisha will only have about 20 minutes of screen appearance.
Keerthy is currently the toast of the town and she is giving her contemporaries a run for money. She also has the highly anticipated Savitri biopic Mahanati, in which she will be playing the late legendary actor and she is also expected to gain weight.
Busy juggling between the sets of Sketch and Dhruva Natchathiram, Vikram has been having a very busy year. He is expected to commence work on Saamy 2 from July or August and is also expected to sign another project by this year-end. For Saamy 2, it is not sure whether Vikram will sport a new look or retain his old look from the first part. Harris Jayaraj has been roped in to compose the tunes.
