Give it to Thalaivar. Rajinikanth-starrer Kochadaiiyaan may have opened to mixed reviews but that has not stopped it from minting money at the box office.
According to figures tweeted by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has made Rs 42 crore gross worldwide since it opened on Friday. The film also stars Deepika Padukone and Jackie Shroff. It has been directed by the superstar's daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin.
While India figures stood at Rs 30 crore, the film -- which was released in 2D and 3D format in six languages -- earned Rs 12 crore in rest of the world. The film has reportedly been made at the cost of Rs 125 crore.

Meanwhile, reports said that actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan also went to watch the film at a special screening.
He was personally received by debutant director Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin.
The screening was held on Sunday. "Ulaganayagan (Kamal) is watching Kochadaiiyaan now. Received by Soundarya Rajini," Kamal's manager posted on Twitter.
Kamal, who was busy shooting for Tamil film Uttama Villain, took out time to watch Kochadaiiyaan following a personal invitation from Rajinikanth's daughter.
According to a source at the screening, Kamal thoroughly enjoyed the film and appreciated Soundarya for the effort. "Kamal really enjoyed the film. He personally congratulated Soundarya for daring to experiment in her debut film," the source said.
