Superstar Mahesh Babu-starrer Telugu family drama Srimanthudu has approximately grossed over Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend worldwide.
"The opening weekend numbers could be anywhere between Rs 50 crore and Rs 60 crore. The exact numbers are awaited. On release day, the film raked in a whopping Rs 31 crore," trade analyst Trinath said.
Directed by Koratala Siva, the film features an ensemble cast of Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Sampath Raj, Sukanya and Harish Uthaman in important roles. The film is about about a multi-millionaire, who decides to adopt a village, and the challenges he faces in the process.
As on Monday, the film has crossed the $2 million mark at the US box office.
