Veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam’s yet-untitled Tamil romantic film will finally go on the floors on July 8, a source said. “After months of delay, the project will finally start rolling from July 8. The first schedule will be shot in Chennai, followed by a long schedule in Kashmir,” said a source from the film’s unit.
Starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari, the film will have music by AR Rahman. In the project, Karthi plays a pilot who falls in love with a girl on his trip to India. Ravi Varman has been roped in to crank the camera.
Karthi started his career in cinema as an assistant to Ratnam on his 2004 Tamil-Hindi thriller Aayutha Ezhuthu. Although he was offered to act in this project, he chose to work in the direction department.
Mani Ratman has reportedly asked Aditi to learn Tamil for the romantic-drama. She may or may not dub her lines, but the director wants her to mouth her lines well.
“Director Ratnam has asked Aditi to learn Tamil before the commencement of the shoot. While it’s not known whether she will dub her own lines, Ratnam sir is very particular that she learns the language and mouths her lines perfectly,” said a source from the film’s unit.
