Pookutty, the forgotten hero?

As the nation cheers for the BAFTA win of AR Rahman, a lesser known Indian name Resul Pookutty is forgotten who has also bagged BAFTA award for sound designing for the film Slumdog Millionaire.

He has won the award in this category along with Glenn Freemantle, Richard Pryke, Tom Sayers and Ian Tapp.

Pookutty is no stranger to Bollywood and his recent works include the last year's biggest blockbuster Ghajini.

Some of his other Bollywood films are Woodstock Villa, Dus Kahaniyaan, Saawariya, Gandhi, My Father, Traffic Signal, Mixed Doubles, Zinda, Bluffmaster!, Black.

Resul who is a FTII pass out has also been nominated for the Academy Awards. The alumni association of his alma mater FTII, got together in Mumbai to send him off with cheers for BAFTA and it seems their prayers were answered as he now has BAFTA award in his hand.
