Rajinikanth calls Rajamouli ‘God’s own child’, Shankar says pride of Indian cinema

Rajinikanth and Shankar, director of upcoming 2.o, can’t stop raving about SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. Rajinikanth called him ‘God’s own child’ and Shankar says it is Indian cinema’s pride.

After Baahubali 2, the most anticipated big-budget Indian film is superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.o, a sequel to his own blockbuster film Robot. As the whole nation is floored by the phenomenal success of Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, it had the same effect on Rajinikanth and 2.o director Shankar who didn’t mince their words while showering praise on Rajamouli and his team.

Calling it a masterpiece, Rajinikanth went on to describe Rajamouli as God’s own child and added that Baahubali 2 is Indian cinema’s pride. He saluted the whole team for their efforts. In response to Rajinikanth’s tweet, Rajamouli said it means a lot coming from him and that the entire team is cloud nine. Filmmaker Shankar, on the other hand, also called Baahubali 2 the pride of Indian cinema and added that he was awestruck by its beauty, grandness and music.

With an estimated earnings of over Rs 400 crore from the opening weekend across four languages, the second part in the Baahubali franchise is said to have registered the biggest opening for an Indian film. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan, the film is produced by Arka Media Works.
