Suriya advises fans to use their time productively after they attack two VJs for joke on his height
Actor Suriya has finally reacted to the controversy fuelled by his fans against to VJs who made jokes about his height.
Basking in the success of his latest film Thaana Serntha Kootam, actor Suriya has advised his fans to use their time and energy effectively. He made this statement after his fans attacked two VJs of a popular Tamil channel on social media on for taking a dig at the actor’s height while talking about his upcoming project with KV Anand.
Amidst rumours that Amitabh Bachchan has been approached to play a pivotal role in the film, one of anchors smirks and asks is there no one in Kollywood who can play the role? She also says how Suriya would have to use a stool to talk to Bachchan or the entire shoot would have to be done while Big B was seated.
This left many in the industry shocked over what is considered humour today. The video clip featuring the VJs was shared by many on social media, including well known members of film fraternity. In the wake of the attack on the VJs from all quarters, Suriya took to twitter to share some advice to his fans. In Tamil, he wrote: “Use your time and energy for productive purposes. Let society benefit.” He also used the hashtag #AnbaanaFans, making it clear he was addressing his fans.
Suriya is all set to begin work on his next project with Selvaraghavan from this month end. The yet-untitled film marks his maiden collaboration with the Pudhupettai director. The film also stars Sai Pallavi and Rakul Preet Singh. From the second half of the year, Suriya is expected to commence work on KV Anand’s project.
