It is the season of remakes in Indian films. But in what may be a first, Telugu romantic-drama Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini which is still to release, is already on its way to be remade in Hindi, its director Chandru has said.
Discussions are currently underway for the movie's casting.
Actor Sushant Singh Rajput is likely to play the lead in the remake.
"My film's producer L. Sridhar had apparently discussed the story with Sushant, who liked it. Everything now is at the initial stage and it will take time for the project to take off in Hindi. The official confirmation will come from my producer," said Chandru.
However, Chandru isn't in a hurry to enter Bollywood.
"I'm waiting for the Telugu version of the film to release. Then, I intend to start a Kannada project with Shivrajkumar. Only after these projects are completed, will I even think of starting the Hindi project," he said.
Starring Sudheer Babu and Nandita in the lead, Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini is the remake of Chandru's own hit Kannada film Charminar.
