The success of Baahubali franchise has catapulted actor Prabhas into super stardom. Today, no director worth his salt would ignore him. But there was a time when Prabhas was ignored by director Sujeeth, who, incidentally, is directing him in the action thriller Saaho.

It was a success party of the hit Telugu film Run Raja Run (2014) in Hyderabad that Sujeeth bumped into Prabhas. The party had been thrown by Run Raja Run’s hero Sharwanand. There were a number of actors who had approached the director to give them the kind of makeover he had given to Sharwanand. Prabhas, even in 2014, was a big Telugu star.

During the party, Prabhas requested Sujeeth to write a film role for him. Sujeeth didn’t take the conversation seriously. According to reports, when Prabhas got to know of being rebuffed, he called Sujeeth and scolded him for taking things lightly.

“It was the success party of my first feature film Run Raja Run, which had given the leading man Sharwanand a change of image. A lot of other Telugu heroes wanted a similar makeover from me. Prabhas, who was already a big star, approached me at the party. I didn’t take him seriously when he told me to write a film for him. I thought it was just social chitchat,” Sujeeth told Deccan Chronicle.

Sujeeth thought Prabhas wasn’t serious about his proposal and had spoken casually at the party, which is why he had worked half-heartedly on Saaho. It was only after that interaction that the director got onto writing Saaho in all earnestness.
