Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, director Prashant Neel and producer Vijay Kiragandur took part in a pooja ahead of the shoot of KGF: Chapter 2 in April.
The second chapter of Yash starrer Kannada action-drama KGF had its formal launch with a customary pooja ceremony on Wednesday. The regular shooting of the project will only commence from April, according to reliable sources.
The launch ceremony was attended by Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, director Prashant Neel and producer Vijay Kiragandur.
In a recent interview to news agency IANS, Yash confirmed that pre-production work is in process for KGF: Chapter 2 and that the team will get into full-fledged shooting from April.
Talking about the second chapter, Yash said it will be bigger and better than the first part.
“When we made KGF: Chapter 1, we had our own inhibitions and restricted ourselves in some way. But with this kind of success, we are going all out to make the second part. We now know people are keenly looking forward to the second part and we can deliver it without any reservations. We’ve reserved the best for chapter 2,” he said.
It is believed that the makers are keen to rope in a few popular actors from Bollywood in crucial roles to make the film appealing for the national audience.
Sanjay Dutt has been approached by the makers of KGF for an important role in the sequel, which is due for release this December.
It is believed that Dutt was even offered a role in the first part of KGF; however, he didn’t accept the offer as he was tied up with his other commitments.
“We have initiated talks with him again. This time for a very important role in KGF chapter 2. He’s yet to give his nod,” a source from the production side told HT.
Despite garnering mixed reviews from critics, KGF went on to be a hit at the ticket window. It has ended up as the biggest grossing Kannada film with over Rs. 100 crore in gross earnings.
KGF is the story of a man’s rise from the downtrodden backdrop to the king of a goldmine.
