The makers of upcoming Telugu period-drama Rudhramadevi have spent a lavish Rs 5 crore on jewellery for actor Anushka Shetty, who essays the role of Rani Rudhramadevi in the film.
"We had to keep everything as authentic as possible. From make-up to costumes to jewellery, we wanted authenticity. Therefore, we didn't hesitate to spend so much on jewellery worth Rs.5 crore. All this will make our efforts look authentic on screen," director Gunasekhar told IANS.
After Baahubali, the second most highly anticipated Telugu film is Rudhramadevia, which is also slated to release in 2015.
The film, which is also produced by Gunasekhar, features an ensemble cast of Rana Daggubati, Hamsa Nandini, Prakash Raj, Catherine Tresa and Baba Sehegal in important roles.
Maestro Illayaraja is composing tunes for Rudhramadevi, which is the story set against the backdrop of Kakatiya dynasty.
