Sushmita Sen was last seen in a full-fledged role in No Entry (2010).
Since then, she has only made a guest appearance in FALTU (2011). Now, four years later, the actor is set to return to the big screen in a lead role with a Bengali film that is being helmed by the acclaimed director Srijit Mukherji. Titled Nirbaak, the movie will mark Sushmita’s Bengali film debut.
A source reveals that the actor is expected to start shooting by July 17. "They will shoot a major part in Mumbai, and the remaining portions will be captured in Kolkata, apart from some other places,” says the source, adding, “Sushmita just needs to undergo another look test before she faces the camera."
Srijit is known for generating hits like Hemlock Society (2012) and Mishawr Rawhoshyo (2013).
Earlier this year, his most recent release, Jaatishwar, won four National Awards for Best Male Playback Singer, Best Costume Design, Best Music Direction and Best Makeup Artist.
While Sushmita’s spokesperson confirmed the news, the actor remained unavailable for a comment.
