Chennai was raring to gift something inimitable to their demigod, something no one had ever gifted their icon in India before. They decided to follow in the footsteps of Mumbai by organising a flash mob for him.

And which song did the 70 odd mobbers grooved to, which else but his son-in-law's recent rage - Kolaveri Di!

The brain behind the Chennai flash mob - actor Suhasini- told a daily that it was dedicated to actor Rajinikanth whose birthday falls on December 12. "This is our gift for him."

Meanwhile, Rajini's online fans are not far behind. They are garnering support to celebrate Rajinikanth's birthday as World Style Day, reports New Indian Express.

It all started when a month ago, a post appeared on the wall of a Rajinikanth fan page on Facebook that said - 'We should celebrate Thalaivar's birthday as World Style Day', according to the daily.

"Once that started, every online fan thought it was a great idea and has been garnering support to make World Style Day a reality. More and more people have begun spreading the message through word-of-mouth as his birthday (December 12) comes closer," Vinodh K R, an ardent fan and virtual fan club moderator told New Indian Express.
