Manipur dominated the proceedings in the finals of the 6th National Youth Women's Boxing Championship in Guwahati on Sunday. The Manipur team comfortably annexed the Champions trophy finishing with 3 gold medals and 28 points. Hosts Assam finished runners up with 2 gold medals and 25
points followed by Punjab with a gold medal and 19 points.
 
Manipur's Sarjubala Devi (48 kilogram category) was declared the best boxer of the event.

Devi bagged gold in her category by beating Rebecca of Mizoram 9-2 in the final.  Anita Kahar of Assam won the best loser award. Kahar was beaten 8-5 by Sonia of Haryana in the 51 kilogram category in the finals.

Among the referees who officiated in the championship Tirath Rout of Orrisa was adjudged the best, while Pradeep Bisht of Delhi was declared the best judge.
