Renault has special India plan

With none of its three joint ventures in India firing so far, Renault-Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn on Monday said the firm is drawing up its own line up of vehicles for the country that would come irrespective of what happens to either of the joint ventures. The firm has tie ups with
utility vehicle major Mahindra and Mahindra that makes the Logan, Hinduja-owned commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland and two wheeler giant Bajaj Auto for developing a $2500 (Rs 1.17 lakh) ultra low-cost car. 

“Renault is in India for good and will have a full range of products in the country,” Ghosn said. “We were always certain that we were not entering the country to sell only one product but to help in development of the domestic market here.”
