Bangladesi authorities have started a high-level probe to unravel the plot to attack the US embassy in Dhaka as three suspected operatives of Pakistan-based terror outfit LeT and HuJI were taken on two-day remand for questioning. The Detective Branch of police produced Mufti Harun
Izahar, Shahidul Islam and Al Amin alias Saiful before the metropolitan magistrate's court and sought a remand for ten days, Sanwar Hossain, Assistant Commissioner of the Detective Branch was quoted as saying by The Daily Star on Saturday.

He said the remand was necessary for obtaining crucial information about the plot, their network and the people involved in it.

The suspects -- two Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives and a HuJI activist -- were arrested on Wednesday from the port city of  Chittagong on intelligence inputs given on information provided by two suspected militants arrested in the US.

The two were identified as Shahidul Islam, 26, and Al Amin alias Saiful, both LeT men.

The third, 33-year old Mufty  Harun Izhar, was stated to be a Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami  (HuJI) activist.

He is the son of Mufty Azhar, chief of the  right-wing Islami Oikya Jote party, a partner of Bangladesh  Nationalist Party.

DB officials claimed Izahar, along with another suspect, did recce of the US embassy area several times to devise an attack plan.
