The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered constitution of a committee, headed by Karnataka Chief Minister, to oversee the implementation of the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Project.
The project involving a highway to link Bangalore with Mysore has been mired in a controversy over alleged
irregularities in the allocation of land.
A bench headed by Justice Tarun Chatterjee directed the committee to prepare a report on the allotment and possession of land for the completion of the project. The report would be placed before the court by November 22.
The bench said the project should be completed as per the alignment specified in the development plan issued on February 12, 2004 by the Bangalore Mysore Infrastructure Corridor Area Planning Authority.
