Bhutan has evinced interest in Andhra Pradesh`Arogysri', a unique Community Health Insurance Scheme being implemented in the state since 2007, which provides free health care upto Rs 2 lakhs  per year for all families living below poverty line. An eight-member official delegation
from Bhutan, led by its Health  Minister, Mr Lyonpo Zangley Dupka visited Devara Yamjal village on the city outskirts today to see the implementation of the scheme as well as  other health services like 104 mobile heath service.Later the team members met the Chief Minister K Rosaiah.

The Chief Minister pointed out that the scheme was immensely successful  covering all the BPL families.The government spent Rs 689 crores last year under the programme,which covers over 300 medical procedures  including bypass and cochlear surgeries,which are beyond the reach of the poor. The scheme`s success, he said, had prompted nine states in  the country to try to replicate it.
