The political crisis in Karnataka's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government deepened on Friday with unconfirmed number of BJP MLAs tendering their resignation. As per the TV reports, the MLAs have resigned demanding a change in leadership in Karnataka. "We resigned as we want a change in
leadership," said MLA BP Harish. He also added that they want Janardhan Reddy to be made Karnataka CM.

Earlier on Thursday, the dissenting Reddy brothers, who are demanding Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa's scalp, refused to meet him while the party central leadership reiterated that there would be no change in the chief ministership.

BJP president Rajnath Singh, after holding a meeting with Yeddyurappa and other senior party leaders, said there would be no change of guard in the state, the party's first government in the south, and that the chief minister's position was non-negotiable.
