Fire died out in IOC's last tank in Jaipur on Saturday, 10 days after the inferno claimed 12 lives, while smoke continued to bellow from it even as the Centre has ordered an audit to look into the safety and security aspects of the country's oil depots. "Flames in the remaining tank died out in the
morning, but smoke is still bellowing till the evening," Chief Fire Officer Ishwar Lal Jat said.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Jitin Prasada had, earlier, visited the depot site on Saturday in the Sitapura industrial area and inquired about the incident.

The minister, who had come to attend a party function, said a safety audit has already been ordered by the ministry to look into security aspects of oil depots in the country.

"Steps about security and safety regarding oil depots in the country will be taken accordingly after the safety audit report," he said, while terming the incident as an "unfortunate happening".
