Two soldiers were killed and six others injured in an explosion inside their vehicle in north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday, an army official said. "Two soldiers were killed and six others injured when an explosion occurred inside the vehicle they were travelling in today
(Thursday) afternoon," Lt Col J S Brar, spokesman of the army's Srinagar-based 15 Corps, told IANS.

The vehicle was part of an army convoy going to Baramulla town. The blast occurred when the convoy reached Pattan, 30 km from Srinagar.

Brar said it was premature to say whether the explosion had occurred accidentally because of some explosive device which was carried in the vehicle going off.

"Investigations are on to ascertain the facts about the explosion," he said.

Asked whether the explosion could have been because of some explosive device hurled at the vehicle from outside, Brar said the facts about the "mysterious explosion were being investigated".
