Jharkhand which had been "a golden goose" during the RJD regime in undivided Bihar has been converted into a milch cow after its creation as a state, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi said on Sunday. "The RJD had ruled Bihar for 15 years and treated the Jharkhand region in the
erstwhile undivided state as a golden goose as was seen in the surfacing of scams like fodder, land, medicine and bitumen," Modi told a press conference here.

"The legacy continued even after Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar with people like (former Jharkhand chief minister) Madhu Koda, facing IT and ED probe in a Rs 2,000-crore hawala and illegal investments case, converting the state into a milch cow," Modi said.

"The Congress-RJD-JMM combine had supported the Koda government and are no less responsible for the record-breaking scam," he alleged and asked the people to not give any chance to corrupt candidates in the five-phase Jharkhand assembly elections starting on November 25.

The Arjun Munda-led NDA was toppled in 2006 by independent MLAs led by Madhu Koda, who with the support of Congress-RJD-JMM donned the mantle of the chief minister.
