There are quite a few Harley Davidson (HD) owners in the Capital. But vrooming off with the first couple of pieces from the first ever showroom in the country is still special. Umesh Anand and Vikram Bhalla did just that when the iconic motorcycle brand launched its maiden outlet at Vasant Kunj recently.  “I never had it in my mind that I want to be the first buyer or something,” says Bhalla.

“But, nonetheless, it’s great feeling.” Bhalla got the Nightster for he wanted “a bike that has all the qualities of HD as well as driveable (sic) in everyday conditions”. The sporty yet macho machine should serve him well.

As for Anand, it was more about the robust and retro style. “That’s mine, the most beautiful one,” he points out to the Heritage Softail Classic, beaming in pride. A part of the Touring series, this one is one the biggest machines on the road now.

So, when will he buy the next one? “I’m already bankrupt,” jokes Bhalla, who has a “stable” of Enfield Bullets. “My wife will throw me out if even think about a second.”
