Nepal’s minister of state for home affairs Rizwan Ansari submitted his resignation on Wednesday following differences with Home Minister Bhim Rawal.
Ansari, the lone directly elected minister from CPN (UML) in the present government tendered his resignation on directions from Prime
Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
On Saturday, the junior minister had blamed Rawal for the deteriorating law and order situation in Nepal and stated that he was not given any responsibility despite handling an important portfolio.
Ansari had also threatened to resign within 15 days if the law and order situation in the country didn’t improve and he wasn’t given responsibilities commensurate with his designation.
“There has been no change in the situation and there’s no use continuing as a minister,” the Constituent Assembly member from the Sarlahi-2 constituency stated.
