The Capital is witnessing an alarming rise in the number of dengue cases with 29 new cases reported on Saturday. This takes the total number of confirmed cases of the vector-borne disease to 529, according to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Meanwhile, the Delhi government has appointed a new nodal officer, Dr. Debashish Bhattacharya, to keep count of dengue cases in the Capital after reports of MCD under-reporting cases.

The previous officer was changed within hours of his appointment.
