Ankaj Kushal (33) went through hell on Saturday night. Kushal was abducted at gunpoint in his Ford Ikon car near Dwarka by four armed robbers, who thrashed him repeatedly with a revolver butt, robbed his car and taking him for dead, dumped him in Najafgarh drain. Kushal floated
about 1.5 kms in a semi-conscious state in the wide drain before hauling himself out to report the crime to  police who have yet not registered a first information report in the case.

Kushal, a resident of Sector 23, Gurgaon was on his way home from Bhogal Delhi where his sister lives when the incident occurred. He has a wife and a 4-months-old son.

“At about 9.30 pm my car developed a minor snag that I fixed near Uppal Orchid Ecotel road leading to Dwarka,” said Kushal.

“As I was about to start the car, a black Maruti Zen screeched to a halt besides me and three young men got down and rushed towards me. They got in the car and forced me in. The fourth accomplice was in the driving seat of their car,” said Kushal, a documentation manager with Orient Crafts Exports House.

“One of them pointed a gun to my head.  They snatched my gold chain, my wallet and then started beating me. When I resisted, I  was hit on the head with a revolver butt and I fell unconscious. Their Zen car was following us all through.”

Kushal said he was beaten up again and was driven around in a semi-conscious state and finally dumped at Najafgarh drain at about 12.30 pm.

He reported the matter to a PCR van after trudging another 1.5 km, bleeding profusely.

“The police officials took me to Kapasera police station and then to Safardajung Hospital. The Kapasera police station officials, however, said that they would register the FIR after Holi.
My brother could take me home at 7.00 am,” Kushal said.

He complained police had not  filed an FIR till Wednesday on one pretext or the other.
