The Delhi Technical University (DTU) has convened a meeting of its Board of Management (BOM), the highest decision-making body of the technical university, on Friday.
The meeting was called to resolve the ongoing agitation on the issue of upgradation of the Delhi College of Engineering to
a university.
“It was considered necessary that their grievances, if any, should be heard at the level of the BOM, the highest
decision making body of the university so that the ongoing agitation could be settled and apprehensions of student community are amply clarified,” said a press release issued by the varsity.
It also said that the suspension of one of the teachers, N.K. Bhagat, a lecturer of the Electrical Engineering Department, has been revoked.
Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development has turned
down the plea of the agitating students to stop the upgradation of DCE into DTU, said Rashmi Sablania, Public Relations Officer of the university.
