Amid concerns over rising dengue cases ahead of the Commonwealth Games, Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday held a meeting with his Delhi counterpart to review the situation. Delhi Health Minister Kiran Walia said that during the meeting Azad emphasised on a coordinated
effort to tackle the
outbreak.

"A five point agenda has been prepared. The next review meeting will be held after 15 days," Walia told
reporters after the meeting.

Besides Walia, the meeting was attended by senior officials of the Union Health Ministry and Delhi Mayor Kanwar
Sain.

Dengue has till now shown no signs of abating in the national capital where the number of cases reached 1,081
yesterday with 67 more patients testing positive for the vector-borne disease.

Already Indian missions abroad have expressed concern about the situation ahead of the Games and asked the
government to take steps to contain the situation.
