An alleged Pakistani spy who had been living in Delhi for the last four years was arrested at the international airport just as he was about to leave the country. <b1>Mohammed Sayeed alias Amir Ali (37) was stopped at Immigration on Saturday. On examination, his passport too was
found to be false. “A Pakistani spy was arrested at the IGI airport yesterday,” Union Home Secretary G K Pillai confirmed on Sunday.

“Pictures of the Meerut Cantonment and sketches of other army bases have been recovered from him,” said a police officer,  who was part of the team that questioned Sayeed. Sayeed has been booked for violating the Official Secrets Act. “He was trying to carry away Indian defence secrets,” the officer added.

Police have also searched Sayeed’s residence in Shahdara, East Delhi. A Pakistani driving licence and other identification papers have been recovered. “We are trying to find if anyone else helped him get the sensitive information he had,” said a  police officer.
