Haryana Roadways is likely to outsource drivers and conductors to run its fleet of 150 new buses from Faridabad. “We are toying with the idea of outsourcing drivers and conductors for smooth running of 150 buses, sanctioned under the JNNURM scheme,” Captain Manoj Kumar, General Manager,
Haryana Roadways, Faridabad told HT.

Already 23 new buses under JNNURM scheme have recently been added to its existing fleet.

“About 40 new buses are coming up to this month end and the rest will reach Faridabad soon after,” said Anand Mohan Sharan,  Transport Secretary, Haryana Government said.

Out of 150 buses sanctioned for Faridabad, 45 will be air-conditioned, while the rest 105 will be non-AC, officials said.

The bus service in Faridabad is being revamped under the JNNURM scheme. Faridabad is one of the cities where the Congress-led UPA government introduced the scheme during its first term.
