Police on Monday burst teargas shells and resorted to lathicharge to quell students of private coaching institutes who went on a rampage in the state capital. Hundreds of angry students blocked roads in Bazaar Samiti, Pathar Ki Masjid, Kankerbagh, Kadamkuan and Rajendra Nagar localities,
pelted stones at the coaching institutions and vehicles, demanding shutting down of the institutions allegedly involved in duping students and malpractices.

The police said it resorted to mild lathicharge, besides lobbing teargas shells to scare away the students

Several students had last evening also blocked the Bazaar samiti road and created trouble in front of coashing institutions alleging that the owners of these private institutes had duped them in the name of conducting courses.

Meanwhile, a CRPF constable Krishna Kumar, a resident of Saharsa, who had suffered head injuries during the students protest in Rajendra Nagar locality last evening, died at the Patna Medical College Hospital today, they said.
