Pavitra Rishta, produced by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms, was being shot at Klick Nixon Studios, Sakinaka, when a fire broke out. Close-ups of Amit Sareen and Priya Marathe were being taken, when a bulb broke unnoticed and sparked the fabric close to it. Within minutes, there was smoke everywhere and chaos reigned.

The director of the show, Muzammil Desai, confirmed the news: “With several electrical equipments on the sets, such incidents don’t come as a shock. Thankfully, there were no major injuries or heavy losses.”

However, a source from the sets reveals that two employees, a lightman and a spotboy, were badly hurt. But they have since resumed work.

A few months ago, a cowshed was charred during the shooting of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. Laali, the show’s protagonist, was inside with over 50 animals at the time. Precautions have been taken since.
