The Indian contingent at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver has more officials than participants. One of the supposed coaches — part of the five officials accompanying the three athletes — has no credentials as a coach. “[Muddasir Nazir Mir] has been cleared on a no-cost-to-government
basis.

He helps us conduct events in Kashmir,” said R.K. Gupta, secretary of Winter Games Federation of India. Mir is supposed to be aiding armyman Tashi Lundup, whose actual coach was sidelined to accommodate him.
